Google has created another new programme to help search engine optimisers get into the top results without problems. Duplicate content is something you might be tired of hearing about. You already know you can lose in your results from duplicate content, even if it is another website stealing your information. Now Google is helping to end the duplicate content problem.
Their new device is called Parameter Control. You can set up to 15 parameters for Google search bots to ignore. This feature will help increase the crawling efficiency of the bots. It is also the best way to control duplicate content issues when you have more than one site. By telling Google that two pages have the same content you will help tell the bots which one to index. In this way the duplicate content can be ignored so that you still get the results you are looking for. It takes about five minutes to set up the parameters. You just need to log into Google Webmaster Tools into the dashboard in site configuration. You can then choose settings and select Parameter Handling. There is a list of parameters to choose from and once selected you will be safe from duplicate content issues.
